Hunting and Trapping in Lincoln County Forests

The entire county forest is open to hunting and trapping with the exception of designated area which are developed for high public use, such as the Roothouse Lake area. Temporary hunting stands are permissible. However, elevated tree stands must be removed at days end with no use of nails, lag screws, screw in steps or other tree damaging devices. No permanent type structures shall be permitted.

Lincoln County has good populations of:

  • Deer
  • Bear
  • Grouse and
  • Other small game

Throughout the forest, there are many access trails and parking areas for hunter use. Some of the access trails are gated and closed to motorized vehicular traffic to provide a more "wild" experience for those who desire this.
