Fishing in Lincoln County Forests
Lincoln County has
over 100 lakes and over 55 trout streams. Lakes range in size from 1,909 acres to 1/10
acre in size. Species range from Rainbow Trout to Muskies.
- The Harrison Hills area is dotted with many kettle lakes and
a few trout streams. All lakes and streams within the County Forest are available for
fishing unless otherwise listed in State and County regulations.
- The Wisconsin River and its flowages are the largest bodies
of water and see a lot of use but there are others that require a hike through the forest
and have little pressure.
- At several locations in the County Forest areas have been
developed for water access purposes. These generally include a parking lot, approach to
the water and appropriate signing. Many of these areas also have camping or picnic sites
available.
A few County Forest favorites:
- Otter Lake
- Harrison Flowage
- Tug Lake
- Penny Lake and
- Camp Newwood
